What to include in your request
Task list
List the items you want assembled, mounted, repaired or adjusted. Include the quantity and dimensions you know, along with which tasks matter most.
Products and materials
Provide product names or model numbers where relevant. Say what you already have and ask who will supply any remaining materials or replacement parts.
Site conditions
Describe the work area, access restrictions and any known damage. If something is hidden or uncertain, say so and ask whether the provider needs to inspect it before pricing.
Timing and scope boundaries
Share your preferred date and whether tasks can be split across visits. Work involving regulated trades may require a qualified specialist; confirm applicable requirements before choosing a provider.
Photos can make your request clearer
Take an overall view of the work area and a close-up of the item or problem. Product labels or assembly instructions can be useful too. Avoid including personal documents, keys or sensitive household details.

What can affect the price?
Task complexity, quantity, access, materials and unknown conditions can affect the proposal. Ask whether the quote is fixed or hourly, whether there is a minimum visit charge, and how additional work would be agreed.

Can I put several small projects in one request?
Yes. List the tasks separately and ask providers to identify which ones they can take on. That helps you spot a proposal that covers only part of your list or requires a separate specialist.
